How can I send files or documents to Holmes Printing? Electronic files can be sent via the carriers mentioned below on CD, DVD, 3.5 inch flopy, or on 100 mg Zip Drives. Also Jaz Drives are accepted (2 gig). Smaller electronic files can be sent on the internet as an attachment to holmesprinting@inter.ab.ca. All attachments to E-mail should be compressed. Shipping Files All shipments must go to the production facility: Holmes Printing 1577 Dunmore Road S.E. Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 1Z8 Canada E-files or copy may be sent via courier or Greyhound bus. If your firm is located in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer or Brooks, for early delivery at Holmes Printing use Ace Courier, they deliver to our building at approximately 7:00 a.m. Ace Courier can be contacted via telephone; Calgary 235-6464 - Edmonton 468-4445 - Red Deer 342-2269 - Brooks 362-0503 - Lethbridge and Taber 329-3982. Points in the USA could use Federal Express, they will do our customs work for us. A NOTE ABOUT FONTS Holmes Printing has a fully licensed font library with over 1200 styles. It is likely that we have the fonts you use. However we request that the fonts be sent with the job to avoid any delay in the rare event that it is not in the library. Preference is given to Postscript type 1 fonts. If you are sending Truetype fonts please warn us, Truetype fonts can behave unpredictably on high resolution image setters. All fonts should be placed on a separate disk or in a separate HFS folder on a disk and named "FONTS". Any fonts used from the supplied disk or folder will be used only for the job indicated then removed from the system. We hold that this procedure honors the spirit of the copyright concerning the use of fonts. For all Postscript type 1 fonts be sure to include both the "Screen Font" and the "Printer Font". If font substitution must take place we will supply a new proof which must be checked carefully and re-approved by the client.
